Scope of Work:
This tower restoration completed in 1999 included:
- the replacement of over 9000 deteriorated and portland-cement laid bricks
- cutting out and repointing 100% of the tower and front facade
- dismantling and rebuilding the brick arches above the front window and around the front entranceway
- slate replacement and new flashings
This church is the burial site of the infamous ‘Black Donnelly’s’ who were murdered in 1880 by the townspeople of Lucan. The Donnelly’s had a long history of committing crimes against the people of their community.
